HOW SOLAR WORKS
Solar Energy Definition
Let's explore how solar works and how to make the most of it. We're fortunate enough to live in one of the sunniest parts of the world, so using solar power just makes sense. Here is how it works. The beautiful ball of energy, known as the sun, sends it’s rays down to the solar panels on your roof. Within the solar panels are Photovoltaic (PV) cells inside of those cells are electrons that vibrate, generating electricity.
From there, the electricity gets converted from direct current to alternating current, by your inverter, to power your fridge TV or ironically, your air conditioner. If you need more energy than your panels produce, you can still get power from the electricity grid of your power company. Likewise, if you qualify for renewable energy buybacks from your energy company, you'll be able to sell any excess energy back to the grid. Not only is harnessing energy from the sun great for the environment, it's also a great way to reduce your energy costs and use as much of the solar electricity generated as possible. This means buying less energy and saving large amounts of money over time. We will have a wider solar energy definition in our blog posts very soon.
